Consciously Made
CIRCULAR BY DESIGN
Did you know:
- 20% of the world’s industrial water pollution is caused by the fashion industry.
- Fashion production makes up 10% of humanity's carbon emissions, dries up water sources, and pollutes rivers and streams.
- 85% of all textiles go to the dump each year. The equivalent of one garbage truck full of clothes is burned or dumped in a landfill every second.
When deciding what to wear (and produce), we have a moral obligation to consider how it’s made and its impact on the environment.
HERE IS HOW WE STAND UP
THE OUTERS:
The outside of our blazers are made using deadstock fabric. What is deadstock? Deadstock fabric is upcycled fabric that is left behind from larger fashion houses, doomed for a warehouse, or worse a landfill, never to be scene again. We rescued these beautiful textiles and give them new life.
THE LINER:
In some cases we use deadstock silk fabrics for liners. In other cases we use a cupro-cotton blend. What is cupro? Cupro is the by-product of the industrial harvest of cotton, specifically the waste fibers that are too small to spin. It is biodegradable as well as easily recycled, since it’s made from 100% plant-based materials. It's also hypoallergenic, breathable, anti-static, and stretch-resistant. So it's pretty much the best alternative to silk.
THE BUTTONS:
All of our buttons are made of recycled materials - either recycled paper or recycled polyester.
MADE IN LOS ANGELES:
Our entire collection is designed in Denver and sewn in Los Angeles. This helps us keep our carbon footprint low and keeps jobs in the states.
